Is safety and reliability important to you? At the same time, do you want to enjoy independence and freedom? Then telescopic walking sticks are the ideal companion on all your paths. The sturdy yet lightweight sticks offer you maximum support and surefootedness on any terrain.
At the same time, they ensure an optimal walking pattern. Your joints, muscles, and hips are ideally relieved. This way, you always stay ahead even in rough terrain.
How does a telescopic walking stick work?
A telescopic walking stick is, as the name suggests, extendable. It consists of three segments that you can pull apart and lock as you wish. This way, trekking poles with a telescopic system can be adjusted in no time.
Especially on changing ground, the easy adjustability is a huge advantage. It ensures maximum safety. Even on longer hikes with corresponding luggage, these models can serve you well.
Your body weight is optimally distributed and your joints are relieved as much as possible. In steep and difficult terrain, a telescopic stick can easily be attached to a trekking backpack or a light hiking rucksack. For transport, you can quickly and easily reduce it to a compact length.
The advantage: You have enough freedom to hold on or even climb.
What is the difference between foldable and telescopic walking sticks?
The main difference lies in the adjustment options: Foldable walking sticks are unfolded. With telescopic walking sticks, you set the suitable length by pulling the segments apart.
The latter is quick and, above all, stepless. This way, you can perfectly adjust your equipment to your height and readjust it if needed.
This clever system has another decisive advantage:
- Telescopic walking sticks have more stiffness than their competitors.
- This not only improves shock absorption but also positively affects durability.
- Even with frequent use on stone and rubble, these models are extremely durable.
One or two telescopic walking sticks when hiking?
First of all: walking sticks are not offered in pairs without reason. To optimally relieve your body and at the same time provide maximum safety, you should always use two telescopic walking sticks when hiking, trekking, and the like.
- On flat ground, hold your sticks diagonally and use them alternately according to your natural movement.
- In steep terrain (uphill and downhill), the so-called double-stick use has proven effective.
For this, you place both trekking sticks with telescopic system with every second step and push off with their help. This saves your strength and protects your joints.
Can the telescopic walking sticks also be used in snow?
Yes, thanks to the included snow baskets, our telescopic walking sticks are well suited for use in snow. By the way: the delivery includes 4 different attachments for
- asphalt
- Nordic walking
- trekking
- and snow
What material are the Alpin Loacker telescopic walking sticks made of?
We have different models in stock for you. You can choose between aircraft aluminium and carbon.
- Telescopic trekking sticks made of carbon have a decisive advantage: they are ultra-light and weigh just 260 grams per stick.
- The aluminium models weigh a bit more at 292 grams per stick but are more robust.
Especially for long-term use in tough terrain, aluminium convinces with better durability.
For use on soft ground and light hikes, the properties of carbon are comparable to those of aluminium. Our ultra-light carbon telescopic sticks are somewhat more expensive than the aluminium walking sticks. This is because the processing of carbon fibre is much more complex.
Both models feature an ergonomically shaped cork handle. This sustainable natural material gives you optimal grip in any weather – free from blisters and calluses. Thanks to the highest breathability and skin-friendly properties, our telescopic walking stick feels excellent in your hand even at extreme temperatures.
How long are the telescopic walking sticks extended and collapsed?
Our telescopic walking sticks have a length of 65 cm when collapsed. Thanks to the adjustable range from 105 cm to 135 cm, you can optimally adapt them to your height.
What locking system do the Alpin Loacker telescopic walking sticks have?
We have deliberately chosen the clamp lock for our trekking sticks with telescopic system. This locking system has several advantages compared to the twist lock:
- The adjustment is particularly easy and intuitive. This gives you the highest level of ease of use. This way, you can even quickly and easily adjust your sticks while wearing gloves.
- The durability is also much better than with twist locks. They are especially long-lasting and do not loosen unexpectedly.
As a result, you will enjoy your telescopic walking stick for a long time and at the same time enjoy maximum safety.
